The Outreach Department of the AX Church
As the Bible states, we are living in perilous times and the signs are all around us that the coming of our Lord is very near. 2 Timothy 3:1 and Matthew chapter 24.
In the midst of the confusion of our present day world, many may ask, “What is truth?”, “How must I be saved?”, “Does God really exist?”, “Which way is the right way?”
The truth can be found in the pages of God’s Word. His salvation plan is clearly outlined.
Acts 2:38-39 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Ephesians 4:5 - One Lord, one faith, one baptism
The purpose of the outreach department is to fulfill God’s great commission: To reach and win as many souls to the Lord as we can. Not only by going door to door within our community to invite people to church, but by also caring for our new converts, reaching out to and encouraging back sliders, ministering to those in need in prisons, shelters, nursing homes and hospitals and also teaching home bible studies. John 9:4 - I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Sometimes our task may seem impossible, but with God, all things are possible. It is not His will that any soul should perish. Matthew 18:14
The Outreach Department consists of various teams:
New Converts Contact Team: Being baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost is just the beginning for a new convert. As a babe eventually learns how to walk and talk in the natural life, so a new convert learns how to walk and talk in their new life in Christ. Many falls, bumps and scrapes are inevitable and the New Converts Contact Team is there to assist the new converts on a regular, consistent basis, not only at church services and functions, but also between services or functions. Sometimes these are the times when new converts are the most vulnerable and need that extra love and support the most. The New Converts Contact Team makes themselves available to each new convert through fellowship, discipleship, instruction, encouragement, growth, prayer, burden sharing, bible studies and praise and worship.
Bible Study Team: This team consists of many saints and ministers that are well studied in the Word and various modes of bible study. They are available to teach bible studies to individuals or groups and in homes, at church or wherever a bible study may be requested. 2 Timothy 2:15 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Canvassing Team: Mark 16:15 - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
John 4:35 - Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
With prayer and as God directs, our canvassing team “puts legs” on these scriptures by going out into the community of Xenia. Every door is knocked and an invitation is extended to attend our church services and special functions.
Campus Ministry: We are experiencing a thriving campus ministry at Wilberforce and Central State Universities. Many of these students are far away from home, families, church families and friends. The AX Church provides transportation to and from church, fellowship, prayer, encouragement and even some good, home made cooking from time to time. There is a great hunger and thirst for God’s Word and bible studies are in progress with several university students.

Each member of The AX Church is a member of outreach. If not actively on one of the outreach teams, in their own sphere of influence: at home, on the job, at the grocery store, wherever we go. We are the light and the salt of the earth. Matthew 5:13-14
Our burden and our heart’s desire is to reach souls who don’t know Jesus and the richness of His blessings and the truth of His Word, to let them know that no matter what they have done or how unworthy of God’s love they may think they are, God loves and cares for them and is reaching for them.
We encourage each and every one to hear and take heed to His call:
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17
